Woke up at 8:00. Didn't get out of bed until 8:45. The start of a slow day!
The weather was...clouds at 400 feet broken, 900 overcast. Freezing levels were at 3000. Clouds were up to FL350. ha! No flying today! Not for awhile anyway. Forecast is that the clouds were going to lift tonight...but we opted to say in our hotel for another day.
Ate some breakfast, then chilled in the hotel all morning. Ended up going out to Olive Garden at 1:30 for lunch. Good food. Came back to the hotel, passed time some more.
Went out to Waffle House for supper. I still think I would like to own a Waffle House someday! No lie.
All in all, it was a pretty uneventful day. We're waiting on a strong low-pressure system to move through. Winds at 3000 feet were 35 knots...at 6000 feet they were 60 knots. Combined with the freezing levels and rain and strong potential (not to mention PIREP's) for ice, we were more than happy to stay in.
The high temp here today was 46 degrees. Yuck! And it was windy on the surface, too!
Went swimming late this afternoon. Talked to Mom and Boogs. Hammer called me and let me know he was engaged. A couple weeks late, but it was great to catch up. I loved it. Bought a wedding gift for my bro.
A nice, relaxing day. I don't want too many of these, but they are nice to get every once in awhile.
It looks to be good tomorrow. Matt and I will be headin' out early in the morning. We've got a place and car lined up in Gainesville, Texas. We love our small towns. Can't wait to see what this one's like.
Goin' to wake up at 7:00. Hope to be wheels-up at 8:30.
Went to bed at 11:00.
